Background
Dr. Rosmaria binti Omar was born and raised in Tumpat, Kelantan. She received her early education at SK Berangan (1986-1991) and completed her lower secondary education at SMKA Naim Lilbanat (1992-1996). Later, she continued her foundation studies in Science Matriculation, Pusat Pengajian Lanjutan at Universiti Putra Malaysia (1997-1999). After graduating from Bachelor of Science Agribusiness (1999-2004) at Universiti Putra Malaysia, she worked as a call center officer for a year at ASTRO Measat Broadcast Network. Then, she worked as a contract teacher for eight years in Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sinar Bintang, Kuala Lumpur.
Later, she continued her master's studies in Technical and Vocational Educational Studies at the University Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (2011-2013). She furthered her postgraduate studies at PhD level in the field of Educational Psychology from 2015 to 2018. The title of her doctoral thesis is "A Predictor Model of Parental Involvement, Teacher Competence, and Achievement Motivation with Student Performance Standards in Vocational Colleges, Ministry of Education Malaysia". It was fully funded by the MyPhD Scholarships, Ministry of Higher Education. Upon completion of her PhD, she was appointed as a Post-Doctoral Student at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris in 2020 to 2021.
Dr. Rosmaria binti Omar is currently a lecturer with relatively broad networking and vast experience in research. She is actively engaged as a consultant for data analysis and publication at various public universities, including Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, and Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin. Her areas of specialization include educational psychology, applied psychology, educational research, pedagogy, and educational statistics. She is well versed in using SPSS and SEM-AMOS software.
